I dare you!
Some damn good fanart of Carissa, if I do say so myself. A good mix of cel shading and smooth blending, which is something I may have to implement into a project that I'm working with someone on. This project is starting up an arpg group, but that's beside the point.
I'm actually really happy with this... which is going to last for, like, 3 days lol
When I sw the hammer for the first time in the show, I was like HECK YEAH, GO REK SOME BADDIES AAAHAHAA and so here we are, with fanart of a bigass hammer. I do wonder how she lifts the thing, but then again, magic.
This is in the Gramorr-infested Ephedian castle, aka Iris's parent's house. Gramorr is a villain. I thought if Carissa had it her way, the fight would look something like this.
The image is named "batterup.jpg", and the original title was going to be "Batter Up!" but she probably doesn't know the sport of softball/baseball. Yet. She's an athlete, so she'll pick it up in .05 seconds.
The original background I had wasn't, well, original. I pasted in a background from the show itself, and I wasn't feeling it. I'll post a small version of that after this goes up. Here's the one with the alternate background
My one complaint I had with this image: in the original lines of Carissa's figure, her left foot was done in a flat profile view, as I'd imagined the horizon to end there. Like you were looking at a high heel from the side. I went on to complete the image and then.... it looks like she was rolling her ankle/the perspective didn't line up so I had to redraw and shade the damn thing. Despite that little frustration, I'm happier with how it looks.
